Multilingual Survey Data Collection

Multilingual Survey Data Collection for Japanese News Channel – Case Study

About the Client

The client is a well-established Japanese news broadcasting domain, recognized globally for delivering timely, accurate, and culturally relevant news. With a vast international audience, the client wanted to ensure that their content resonated effectively across multiple languages and regions. Their objective was not just linguistic translation but also capturing cultural nuances and audience sentiment through structured multilingual surveys.

Client Requirements for Survey Data Collection

The client wants to manage a multilingual survey and feedback project covering 17 global languages including English, Arabic, Indonesian, Urdu, Spanish, Swahili, Thai, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Burmese, Hindi, French, Vietnamese, Persian, Bengali, Portuguese and Russian. For each language, they required two native resources – one male and one female – to ensure diversity in perspective and feedback. The requirement involved:

  • Listening to news broadcasts in their native language.
  • Completing structured surveys assessing clarity, cultural appropriateness, and accuracy.
  • Providing one descriptive feedback answer for each session.
  • Executing 2 Programs, which included 30 minutes of listening and survey participation.

The client emphasized the need for native speakers from diverse professional backgrounds, not just translators or linguists, to achieve an unbiased and culturally authentic evaluation.
